Kybella®
Why Choose Kybella®
Kybella® is the first and only FDA-approved injectable treatment designed to permanently reduce submental fullness—commonly known as a “double chin.” Submental fullness can be influenced by genetics, aging, or weight changes, and often persists even with a healthy lifestyle. Kybella uses deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body, to break down and permanently destroy fat cells in the treated area.
Once the fat cells are eliminated, they can no longer store or accumulate fat. This means that with a proper treatment plan, results are long-lasting and non-surgical, offering a more sculpted, defined jawline without downtime associated with surgery.
Our experienced medical injectors create tailored treatment plans to ensure precise contouring and natural-looking results.

What Kybella® Can Help With
Kybella is ideal for clients seeking a slimmer, more contoured lower face without invasive procedures.
Kybella® FAQs
How does Kybella work?
Kybella uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid to break down fat cells beneath the chin. Once destroyed, these cells are removed naturally by the body and do not return.
How many treatments will I need?
Most clients need 2–4 sessions, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. Some may require up to 6 sessions depending on the amount of fullness and desired result.
Is Kybella permanent?
Yes. Once fat cells are destroyed, they cannot store or accumulate fat again. Maintaining a stable weight helps preserve results.
What should I expect during the treatment?
Treatment involves a series of small injections under the chin. The process typically takes 15–20 minutes.
Is there downtime?
Mild swelling, firmness, or tenderness under the chin is common—especially after the first session—and can last several days. Most clients resume normal activities shortly after treatment.
Does Kybella hurt?
You may feel a warm or tingling sensation during the injections. We use comfort measures to minimize discomfort, and most clients find it tolerable.
When will I see results?
Improvements typically appear after 4–6 weeks as the body processes and eliminates the treated fat cells. Results become more pronounced with each session.
Is Kybella safe?
Yes. Kybella is FDA-approved and has been widely used in medical aesthetics. When performed by trained injectors, side effects are minimal and temporary.
Who is a good candidate?
Kybella is ideal for adults with moderate to severe submental fullness who want a permanent, non-surgical solution to improve their jawline. A consultation is necessary to ensure you are a suitable candidate.

Post-Procedure Instructions
Goal: Reduce swelling, tenderness, and optimize fat-dissolving results.
1. Immediately After Treatment
-
Expect swelling, numbness, and firmness in the treated area — this is a normal inflammatory response.
-
Mild redness, warmth, or bruising is common and can last several days to weeks.
-
Do not touch, rub, or massage the area for at least 48 hours.
-
Apply ice packs (10 minutes every hour as tolerated) during the first 24 hours to reduce swelling and discomfort.
-
Sleep with your head elevated for the first few nights.
-
You may take acetaminophen (Tylenol®) for discomfort — avoid NSAIDs for 48 hours if possible (they can worsen bruising).
2. First 3–5 Days
-
Swelling peaks around day 2–3 and gradually subsides over 1–2 weeks.
-
Avoid:
-
Vigorous exercise, saunas, or heat exposure for 3–5 days
-
Makeup, lotions, or skincare products on the area for 24 hours
-
Tight clothing or jewelry that rubs the neck/chin area
-
-
Continue light icing as needed.
-
Numbness, firmness, or small nodules under the skin are expected and typically resolve within 2–4 weeks.
3. Long-Term Healing
-
Results appear gradually as fat cells break down and are naturally eliminated by the body.
-
Visible improvement is typically seen in 4–6 weeks, with continued refinement over several months.
-
A series of 2–4 treatments, spaced 6–8 weeks apart, is usually recommended for best results.
-
Once destroyed, fat cells do not return, but weight maintenance and a healthy lifestyle are important to preserve contour.
